The restaurant counts over 100 years of life, since its establishment in 1920, and still offers high quality meat, well set and well cooked dishes, today, made by Chef Marios Salmatanis. His brother, Panayiotis Salmatanis, who is always with a smile and warmth on his face, makes sure that everything runs smoothly between the dining room and the kitchen. Natalia is by now part of the family and welcomes you to the restaurant. She will pamper you to the end!

The fireplace creates a warm atmosphere and is a constant reminder of the Salmatanis roots in Kifissia area. The location of the restaurant, along with its courtyard, is ideal for your meal during the Greek summer. Live music on weekends makes your days more easygoing and lighthearted.

Our cuisine

Fresh ingredients

Our guide is our traditional recipes and the quality of the Greek ingredients. The Salmatanis brothers really like to smell the Aegean Sea in the large dining room they have created. All meals are rigorously cooked with local and seasonal raw materials, often ingredients are taken from their own vegetable garden. In addition, the team travels to Grevena and Florina to pick special local delicacies (such as 13 different kinds of mushrooms) to serve to your table.

The Chef adds his signature on all the dishes, while he always chooses seasonal and fresh ingredients in order to create satisfying balanced dishes. His 20 years of experience and studies in France allow him to dare and marry Greek traditional cuisine with more modern elements.

Panayiotis Salmatanis, Chef Dimitris Salmatanis and Natalia are your people from the minute one steps foot onto the stone paved yard of the restaurant until the moment he steps out of it filled with joy and good food. It is that same feeling in the customer’s mind that keeps Salmatanis Bros in the business for almost 100 years now and that same attentiveness they offer that keeps them going.

Holidays

Salmatanis restaurant celebrates every holiday and every occasion. Loyal to the customer as ever, the restaurant is open on Clean Monday, Fat Thursday, Easter day, Christmas and New Years day. Live music takes over and the festivities begin.
